1. Utility Panel
1.1. Toolbox
Toolbox is PoseTool's work window. In this window you'll operate with plugin's functions. You can open up to four Toolboxes. You can't open one character in two different toolboxes. Also there is no matter which one of the four toolboxes will be used, they're all the same.
1.2. Reset Position
PoseTool preserves the position of all toolboxes on the screen in your max file. This is useful in case you have second display and want to place the work windows on it. But this will be a problem if the same file is opened on computer with one display. Reset Position sends all the toolboxes in default position.

2.3. Tree
That's the area where you work with the main character and his sub-groups named object sets. The options are accessible with RMB over the main Character. |
Note : The principal of creating or managing the poses and object sets is first to make the transformation/selection and then use the options described below! |
Define Default Pose
When you create a PoseTool character or object set, the plugin will automatically create default pose for them. With this option you can change it.
New Object Set
To create object set you have to select objects that appear in main character or other object set ( parent ) and then click on New Object Set
New Pose
Create pose for the object set.
Rename Object Set
Delete Object Set
Import
The object set import is based on the same principal as the character import with a little difference. It's very important on which object set on you're clicking. If you want to import object set " Hand " there is no sense to do that in object set "Leg" or "Spine" for example. You must do that in object set "Arm" or in the main character .
Note: When you import object set, PoseTool will ask you "Do you want to apply character to other objects ? “ This option gives you the opportunity to import the Object Set and his sub-sets and poses to other objects or to renamed ones.
Note: When imports, PoseTool works only with selection. That's why if you want to import object set for the left hand, you'll have to select the objects that form the hand first.
Export
It saves the object set and all his child object sets and poses to *.ptc file.
Add Object
To add object into object set, you have to select the object first.
Remove Object
To remove object from object set, you have to select it first.
Select Object
Selects the objects from the object set. The objects can also be selected with double click over the Object Set in pose list.

2.4. Pose List
That's the area where poses can be created, deleted, renamed and so on. They can be reorganized up and down with drag'n'drop. |
Define Default Pose
With this option you can change pose's default tranformations.
Rename Pose
Renaming the poses is much faster with double click.
Delete Pose
New Pose
To create a new pose, just choose current position of the animated Object Set, tune it, or just rotate/move/scale the objects to desired position, then click "new pose". |
2.5. Pose Options
Original/Alternative (object set only)
this option gives the opportunity to switch among the original objects or their alteranatives (mirror). If you haven't defined alternative objects for the object set, you'll be asked to do it.
absolute/relative
absolute mode executes poses just like you created them, relative mode adds the pose to current transformation.
limited/unlimited
You can choose between limited range 0-100% of the original pose and the unlimited range (over 100%) which includes also negative values.

2.6. Globals
This is global control over the transformations in PoseTool. Of course, if all transformations are off, you won't get any result. |
| Note : To see how it works, open globals.max then open the Toolbox and try to turn on and off the transformations until executing the pose. |
